A CREATIVE GATHERING FOR WOMEN, NURTURING CREATIVITY THROUGH MOVEMENT, ARTISTIC EXPRESSION, AND SYMBOLIC Inquiry.

Abstract Brush Strokes
CREATIVE GATHERINGS

This series is designed as a gradually deepening process consisting of four gatherings held at the Josef Plíva Foundation in Svitavy.

Participants may join the full series or attend individual gatherings independently. Each session forms a self-contained chapter of the journey while opening another layer of perception—from gently attuning to the body and present moment to deeper creative and inner exploration.

The focus is not on performance or producing a final outcome, but on cultivating a deeper relationship with oneself through the senses, the body, and the creative process.

We work through a combination of:

  • Body-based practices (somatics and movement)

  • Visual art-making (drawing, painting, object-making, and working with clay)

  • Writing (both reflective and poetic)

  • Engaging with space and the natural environment

Who is it for?

  • Artists and creatives from any discipline

  • Facilitators and educators looking to expand their practice

  • People seeking to reconnect with their creativity and discover new forms of self-expression

  • Anyone curious about exploring the creative process through embodied experience

No previous experience with dance, movement, or visual art is required.

This series is open to women only.

MOŽNOSTI ÚČASTI

01

FULL SERIES (JUNE-OCTOBER)

By joining the full series, you enter an unfolding process rather than a one-off experience. Between gatherings, you will receive weekly invitations and creative prompts that gently deepen the exploration. Your creative work and perception build over time, while a consistent group develops within a shared and supportive environment.

02

INDIVIDUAL GATHERINGS

Each gathering is designed as a complete experience in itself and is open to new participants. After each session, you will receive a short set of integration practices and reflections to support your own creative process and encourage the experience to continue beyond the gathering.

01

ENTERING THE PROCESS

5–7 JUNE 2026

2 900 Kč

The opening gathering introduces the cycle through grounding in the body, the senses, and present-moment awareness. Together, we create a safe container for sharing and creative exploration, where the emphasis is on perception rather than performance.

The application deadline is 20 May 2026.

02

THE BODY AS A SOURCE OF CREATIVITY

14-16 AUGUST 2026

2 900 Kč

This gathering deepens the relationship between body, identity, and creative expression. Through movement, drawing, and imagination, participants cultivate a stronger connection to their own voice and develop trust in their inner creative process.

The application deadline is 1 August 2026.

03

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE INNER AND OUTER WORLD

11-13 SEPTEMBER 2026

2 900 Kč

A weekend dedicated to exploring the dynamic between our inner landscape and the world around us. Through movement and creative practice, we investigate the space "in between"—how to remain authentic in relationship with others and how to balance personal experience with shared presence.

The application deadline is 1 September 2026.

04

ENCOUNTERING INNER ARCHETYPES

16-18 OCTOBER 2026

2 900 Kč

The final gathering opens deeper layers of exploration through symbols and archetypes. The creative process becomes a tool for engaging with inner complexity, contradictions, and the many voices that shape our experience.

The application deadline is 1 October 2026.

05

FINAL WEEK-LONG RESIDENCY IN FEZ, MOROCCO

A DIALOGUE WITH PLACE & CULTURE

15-22 NOVEMBER 2026

25 000 Kč

The culmination of the entire programme takes us to the heart of Fez, Morocco. A change of environment, together with a different quality of light, colour, rhythm, and scent, naturally opens new layers of perception and deepens everything that has been cultivated throughout the year in Svitavy.

This residency offers a space for both integration and expansion—a chance to connect the inner creative journey with the wider world. Through encounters with the landscape, culture, and everyday life of Fez, participants are invited to continue exploring creativity through direct experience, curiosity, and presence.

Participants of the Svitavy programme receive priority access to residency places and a reduced participation fee.

SUPPORTING CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH SOMATIC PRACTICES, MOVEMENT, SENSORY AWARENESS, AND THE CREATIVE PROCESS.

WHY
NOW?

To hear ourselves again in an overstimulated world.

Through somatic practice and visual art-making, we create a space where external noise can soften and inner guidance can emerge. This is an invitation to cultivate the courage to create, make decisions, and move through life from your own centre—with authenticity, clarity, and freedom.

GALLERY OF THE CREATIVE PROCESS
ARE THESE GATHERINGS RIGHT FOR YOU?

These gatherings may be for you if:

  • You feel that your mind is constantly busy and would like to reconnect with the wisdom of the body.

  • You are looking for a safe space for creative experimentation without judgement or evaluation.

  • You are curious about somatic practices and the arts as tools for grounding, insight, and personal growth.

  • You enjoy creating within a community that values process over outcome.

These gatherings may not be for you if:

  • You are seeking clinical psychotherapy or a substitute for psychiatric care.

  • You are looking for a course in traditional art techniques (such as realistic painting).

  • You prefer receiving information passively rather than engaging in an experiential and participatory process.

FAQ

Do I need to know how to paint or have experience with dance?

Not at all.

We work with personal expression rather than technical skill. The focus is not on how a painting looks or how polished a movement appears, but on what you discover and experience through the process. Curiosity is the only prerequisite.

What if I cannot attend all four gatherings?

The programme is designed as a progressively deepening journey, but each gathering (01–04) also stands on its own as a complete experience. You are welcome to join a single gathering that resonates with you or participate in the full series.

What should I bring?

We recommend comfortable clothing that allows for free movement and that you do not mind getting a little paint on. All art materials are included in the participation fee and will be provided.

How large is the group?

We work in an intimate group setting to maintain a sense of safety, trust, and meaningful exchange. Places are limited to a maximum of 8 participants.

Do I need to attend all the Svitavy gatherings to join the Morocco residency?

No.

However, participants in the Svitavy programme receive priority access to residency places and a reduced participation fee.

Is accommodation available?

Yes.

Affordable accommodation is available directly at the venue (within the foundation premises) for a symbolic fee of 150 CZK per night.

FACILITATOR

LUCIE
BLAZE

My work brings together somatic practice and visual communication through an experience-based methodology. I facilitate spaces where participants can step away from performance-driven expectations and reconnect with authentic creative expression.

METHODOLOGY

My practice is grounded in an interdisciplinary approach that integrates visual thinking, somatic awareness, art therapy, and contemporary psychological frameworks. These influences have shaped the structure of the programme as a safe and supportive environment for the conscious exploration of creativity.

  • Art Theory and History | Palacký University Olomouc (UPOL), Czech Republic

  • Graphic Design, Studio 01 | Jan Evangelista Purkyně University (UJEP), Czech Republic

  • Visual Communication | Maryse Eloy School, France

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Art Therapy (PgDip) | Whitecliffe, New Zealand

  • Psychosynthesis – Integrative Training Programme | Psychosynthesis Institute, New Zealand

  • Performance and Cultural Practices | School of Disobedience, Hungary

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the weekend or how it would unfold. What I discovered was a playful, joyful, and deeply tangible way of exploring myself. I was surprised by how intuitive creative expression can reflect inner processes, not only my own, but also those of others through their making and sharing.

What felt especially important was the way the workshop was held and facilitated. Lucie created a space free from judgement, grounded in respect and genuine attention. I felt heard, supported, and given the space I needed throughout the process. There was a real sense of safety and care. I'll definitely be joining another workshop.
